The 10 Qualities of a Total Winner

Quality 1:  Positive Self-Expectancy 
"Life is a self fulfilling prophecy. True winners go into every event expecting to win."



When you give yourself a positive self-expectancy means that you only expect the positive outcomes. These expectancy is one way to psychologically motivate yourself because if you keep telling yourself that you can do it then you'll believe in yourself more.  

Quality 2: Positive Self-Motivation 
"True winners dig deep and find motivation inside themselves to get through that tough task or to learn a new skill."


Self Motivation ability to do what needs to be done, without influence from other people or situations. People with self motivation can find a reason and strength to complete a task, even when challenging, without giving up or needing another to encourage them. For instance, if you are trying out for a sport you don't need other people telling you you're good and you just need to try harder you have to do that yourself. Self Motivation isn't being cocky it just means you believe in your abilities but aren't bragging about it.
Quality 3: Positive Self-Image

True winners are confident and view themselves as competent, valuable human beings.
Self-image is how you perceive yourself. ... Conversely, others who have had a very difficult life and multiple hardships may also have a very positive self-image. Some believe that a person's self-image is defined by events that affect him or her. Positive self-image also means no one else can bring you down.


Quality 4Positive Self-Direction
You gotta have direction if you are going to go anywhere. True winners know where they are going. Their sense of direction comes from the self and not from outside influences like parents or friends.


Self-direction you choose your services, the staff and organizations that provide them, and a schedule that works best for you. Each person is unique. Self-direction empowers people to design supports based on their unique strengths and needs. It gives you more control over the funding used to buy your services. 

Quality 5: Positive Self-Control
Total winners can sacrifice immediate pleasure for a gain in the future. Delayed gratification is of immense value in reaching your goals.

Self-control, an aspect of inhibitory control, is the ability to regulate one's emotions, thoughts, and behavior in the face of temptations and impulses. A related concept in psychology is emotional self-regulation. Self-control is like a muscle. Self control means to have the ability to regulate one's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors when one faces a complication. But in this case those who want to be successful will sacrifice immediate pleasure for a gain in the future. An example of people using self control is when you encounter a difficult problem on a test, at work or just on your home as well. 


Quality 6: Positive Self-Discipline

You have to discipline yourself or else someone else will discipline you into doing what they want you to do. Total winners have the power to discipline and take control of their lives.


Self discipline means self control, which is a sign of inner strength and control of yourself, your actions, and your reactions. Self discipline gives you the power to stick to your decisions and follow them through, without changing your mind, and is therefore, one of the important requirements for achieving goals. The most successful people in life exert discipline on a daily basis. It is vital to every living being and without it, the world around us would be chaos. Discipline brings stability and structure into a person's life. It teaches a person to be responsible and respectful.


Quality 7: Positive Self-Esteem

Your mood and outlook on life affect the way you see the world and how you interact in it. Total winners are positive, powerful people who make people feel good and provide a good vibe to those around him/her.


Self-esteem is shaped by your thoughts, relationships and experiences.Self-esteem is your overall opinion of yourself how you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem, you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others.The benefits of a healthy self-esteem are many. Children who have high self-esteem come to value themselves and think of themselves as worthy partners and capable problem solvers. They develop a healthy balance of liking who they are, but also recognizing that there are ways they can continue to grow and to develop.

Quality 8: Positive Self-Dimension
Total winners like in the present. They know that now is all there is. They don’t get caught up in the past or worry about the future. They simply handle the business that they can handle which is the stuff going on today, now.

Winning means extending a strong hand to one who is reaching or groping or, just hanging on.Winners know there will be no lasting piece of bread every month. Self-dimension starts with the inner circle-the family. Winners live well-rounded lives. They spend time developing their most important relationships. Acquiring self-dimension requires looking beyond yourself for meaning in life. A winner puts it all together. He or she is a total person, which is a rare human being indeed.

Quality 9: Positive Self-Awareness
Total winners are aware of their power. They understand that they can be anything with enough effort and determination.



Self Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality,including strengths,weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment.Self awareness is important because when we have a better understanding of ourselves, we are able to experience ourselves as unique and separate individuals. We are then empowered to make changes and to build on our areas of strength as well as identify areas where we would like to make improvements.

Quality 10: Positive Action
Total winners take positive action in their business and with their friends and family. They are uplifting and motivating individuals who inspire the best from themselves and other
Positive Action  is the policy of protecting members of groups that are known to have previously suffered from discrimination. Historically and internationally, support for affirmative action has sought to achieve goals such as bridging inequalities in employment and pay, increasing access to education, promoting diversity, and redressing apparent past wrongs, harms, or hindrances.
